Create my logo free →Color palette generator — FAQ
How do I use the color palette generator?+
Press Generate (or the Space bar) for a new palette. Lock the colors you like and keep generating — only the unlocked colors change. Click a hex code to edit it, open the shades of any color, or start from your logo with 'From image'.
How many colors should a brand have?+
Most strong brands use 3 to 5: one main (primary) color, one or two supporting colors, an accent for buttons and highlights, plus a dark and a light neutral for text and backgrounds.
What are complementary, analogous and triadic colors?+
Complementary colors sit opposite each other on the color wheel (high contrast, energetic). Analogous colors sit side by side (calm and harmonious). Triadic colors are evenly spaced three ways (vibrant but balanced). Choose a harmony in the menu next to Generate.
Can I get a color palette from my logo or a photo?+
Yes. Click 'From image / logo' and the main colors are picked from your picture in seconds. Your image stays in your browser.
What does the contrast check mean?+
It shows which color pairs are readable as text, using the WCAG standard: 4.5 : 1 (AA) is the minimum for normal text and 7 : 1 (AAA) is best. Use these pairs for text on your website and print.
How do I save or share a palette?+
Press ♥ Save to keep it in this browser, Share to copy a link (the colors are in the link), Download PNG for an image, or copy the colors as HEX, CSS variables, Tailwind or SCSS.
