What is a favicon?+
The small icon shown in the browser tab, bookmarks, Google search results and on a phone's home screen when someone saves your website. It makes your site look professional and easy to find among open tabs.
Which favicon sizes do I need?+
favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px) for browsers and Google, 180 × 180 px for iPhone and iPad (Apple touch icon), and 192 and 512 px for Android and installable web apps. Our pack includes all of them plus a maskable icon and the site.webmanifest.
How do I add the favicon to my website?+
Upload all the files from the ZIP to the main folder of your website and paste the HTML lines into the <head> of your pages. On WordPress go to Appearance → Customize → Site Identity → Site Icon; on Shopify Themes → Customize → Theme settings → Favicon.
Can I make a favicon from my logo?+
Yes. Upload your logo — empty edges are trimmed automatically. If your logo has the name next to the icon, use 'Crop to the icon' so it stays readable at 16 px.
Why doesn't my new favicon show up?+
Browsers cache favicons for days. Open your site in a private window or clear the cache. Google updates the icon in search results after it re-crawls your site.
