Logo Size Guide 2026: Best Logo Dimensions for Websites, Social Media & Print

2026-10-04

You have your logo — now every website and app asks for a different size. Upload the wrong one and your logo looks blurry, cut off or tiny. This cheat sheet lists the sizes that matter in 2026 and the file formats to use.

Shortcut: MakeLogoNow's free logo maker includes a one-click brand kit with all of these sizes ready — favicon, app icons, social profile pictures and cover images.

Website logo sizes

UseRecommended sizeFormat
Website header logo250 × 100 px (horizontal), up to 400 px wideSVG or PNG
Favicon (browser tab)16 × 16, 32 × 32, 48 × 48 pxICO or PNG
Apple touch icon180 × 180 pxPNG
Android / PWA icon192 × 192 and 512 × 512 pxPNG

For your header, an SVG file stays perfectly sharp on every screen. If you use PNG, upload it at twice the display size so it looks crisp on high-resolution phones.

Social media logo sizes

PlatformProfile pictureCover / banner
Instagram320 × 320 px (upload 1080 × 1080)—
Facebook320 × 320 px (upload 720 × 720)1640 × 624 px

Almost every platform shows profile pictures in a circle. Leave space around your logo (about 10–15%) so the corners are not cut off. In the MakeLogoNow Logo Studio you can switch to the circle shape and see exactly how it will look.

Print logo sizes

  • Business cards: about 1–1.5 inches (2.5–4 cm) wide, at 300 dpi.
  • Letterheads and invoices: 1.5–2 inches wide.
  • T-shirts: 8–12 inches wide on the front; use a vector file or a 4000 px PNG.
  • Signs and banners: always use a vector file (SVG, PDF) so it can be enlarged without losing quality.

Which logo file format should you use?

  • SVG — vector, infinitely sharp, tiny file. Best for websites and for designers and printers (opens in CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Inkscape).
  • PNG — supports transparent backgrounds. Best for social media, documents and presentations.
  • JPG — small file, no transparency. Use only when a platform requires it.
  • PDF — great for printers and for sending your logo by email.
  • ICO — the classic favicon format for browsers.
