Social Media Logo & Profile Picture Sizes (2026): Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube & More
2026-10-13
You upload your logo as a profile picture and… the edges are cut off, the text is unreadable or it looks blurry. That happens because every platform shows your picture in a small circle and squeezes it to its own size. This guide gives you the right size for every big platform and three simple rules that make any logo look sharp as a profile picture.
Shortcut: upload your logo once to the free logo resizer and download every size below in one ZIP — with safe padding so nothing is cut off in the circle.
Profile picture sizes at a glance
| Platform | Upload size (recommended) | Shown as |
|---|---|---|
| 320 × 320 px (or larger square) | Circle, about 110 px on phones | |
| WhatsApp / WhatsApp Business | 500 × 500 px | Circle, very small in chats |
| Facebook page | 320 × 320 px minimum (720 × 720 is sharper) | Circle |
| YouTube channel icon | 800 × 800 px | Circle, about 98 px |
| TikTok | 720 × 720 px (at least 200 × 200) | Circle |
| X (Twitter) | 400 × 400 px | Circle |
| LinkedIn company page | 400 × 400 px | Square with rounded corners |
| 280 × 280 px or larger | Circle | |
| Telegram / Discord | 512 × 512 px | Circle |
Platforms change their layouts now and then, so always upload a square image of at least 500 × 500 px. A bigger square is never wrong — the platform shrinks it, but it can't make a small picture sharp.
Covers, banners and post sizes
| Use | Size |
|---|---|
| Facebook cover | 1640 × 624 px (keep text in the middle) |
| YouTube banner | 2560 × 1440 px — safe area for text and logo: the centre 1546 × 423 px |
| X (Twitter) header | 1500 × 500 px |
| LinkedIn company cover | 1128 × 191 px |
| Instagram post | 1080 × 1350 px (4:5) or 1080 × 1080 px (square) |
| Instagram / WhatsApp / Facebook story | 1080 × 1920 px |
Need all of these with your logo and colours? The free social media kit makes all 14 sizes at once, and the social post maker creates ready posts for sales, openings and new arrivals.
Why your logo gets cut off (and how to fix it)
- Use the symbol, not the full logo. A long wordmark becomes tiny in a 110 px circle. Use just your icon or initials — save the full name for your bio and posts.
- Leave padding. The circle cuts off the corners of your square image. Keep your logo inside the middle ~70% of the square. The logo resizer adds this padding for round profile pictures automatically.
- Use a solid background. A transparent PNG shows up on white in some apps and black in others (dark mode). Put your logo on your brand colour or white.
Which file format?
- PNG — best for profile pictures and anything with text; stays crisp.
- JPG — fine for photos and covers; smaller files.
- SVG — for your website and printing (scales to any size). Social apps don't accept SVG uploads.

Quick checklist before you upload
- Square, at least 500 × 500 px.
- Icon or initials only — readable when it's the size of a fingernail.
- Logo inside the middle 70%, solid background.
- Same picture on every platform so people recognise you.
